Finding a Therapist in London
You may be seeking psychological therapy in London because you are suffering from anxiety, stress, or depression. Alternatively you may be going through a particularly stressful life event (such as redundancy, illness, or divorce) and may be looking for support with the difficult emotions that can arise. Or perhaps you have become aware of unhelpful behavioural patterns (e.g. in relationships) and would like help to overcome these.
It is equally possible that you simply feel upset for reasons that you cannot entirely explain. You may just be aware that things "don't feel right". In such cases, it can be very helpful to speak to a professional therapist to help you to understand what is happening.
Finding a therapist in London can be a daunting prospect due to the amount of choice and variety of therapies out there. My advice is to choose a therapy that is evidence based (i.e. shown to effective) and to look for a therapist who has been extensively trained. Choosing a Clinical Psychologist is a sound choice as we have been highly trained and closely supervised for years. We are experts in emotional illness across the lifespan and are trained in a wide range of different therapies and psychological treatments. Qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist takes around twice the length of psychotherapy/counselling training. Choosing this type of London therapist therefore gives clients confidence that they are placing their psychological care in the hands of highly trained and competent experts in their field.
My therapeutic style blends warmth, respect, confidentiality and compassion. The broad range of training that that I have undergone allows me to draw on a number of therapies that give depth to therapeutic interventions. My therapeutic models are primarily cognitive-behavioural, but I also frequently draw on compassion-based, schema-focused and mindfulness-based therapies.
I have many years of experience in working with people presenting with a wide range of difficulties including anxiety disorders, depression and trauma. I also have a specialist interest in relationship issues, adjustment difficulties and physical illness. Fees are listed here.
